Advocacy for Nature Correspondence

The Conservation Committee promotes conservation with governments—federal, provincial, municipal, and Indigenous—and the community of British Columbia by researching local, provincial, and global issues that affect BC, such as the climate crisis. The committee writes letters to Government that express the perspective of BC Nature on conservation issues.

Nature advocacy correspondence address the climate crisis, protected areas, and land management, BC Key Biodiversity Areas (KBA) program, Transport Canada’s Oceans Protection Plan, DFO’s Coastal Restoration, Habitat Compensation, North American Waterfowl Management, Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture, Habitat Conservation, and Restoration and many other areas.

NEW July 2026:  BC Nature Stance – Matters of conservation concern that we did not advocate to any agency, but did want to make clear on our stance on these issues.

From time to time, we receive submissions sent to government and other organizations regarding conservation issues.
