Rocky Point Bird Observatory

Club interests: As a member of Bird Studies Canada’s national network of over 20 migration monitoring stations, our primary focus is the study of passerine (songbird) migration. However, other interests include movements of raptors, shorebirds, and seabirds.

Since 1994, more than 20,000 birds of 92 species have been banded at the observatory. A remarkable 283 species have been recorded at the site.

Meetings: Board meetings held on third Thursday each month. Primary monitoring season is currently during “fall” migration from Jul. 20 to end of October.
