Nature Canada and BC Nature have a history of collaboration dating back to the 1990s with the establishment of the IBA Caretaker program to currently collaborating on Municipal Protected Areas (MPAP). LINK
Documented advocacy collaboration — where BC Nature and Nature Canada are recorded as working together on advocacy (e.g., national hearings and policy actions) — is clearly evident in 2013–2014.
The pair intervened together at National Energy Board hearings on major industrial developments such as the Northern Gateway and Trans Mountain pipeline projects. Their relationship reportedly grew significantly around those issues and was recognized as a higher-profile media presence at that time.
Currently a collaboration continues through joint network participation in the Nature Network and continued work on the MPAP program.
