Do you love capturing nature through your camera or phone? Whether you’re hiking mountain trails, birdwatching, exploring tide pools, or photographing the remarkable plants and wildlife of British Columbia, we’d love to see the natural world through your lens.
The 2026 BC Nature & Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation (HCTF) Photo Contest celebrates the remarkable biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes that make British Columbia unique. From spectacular scenery to intimate wildlife encounters, every photograph tells a story—and yours could be a winner!
Submission Portal Opens: September 1, 2026
Entry Deadline: Midnight (PDT), October 15, 2026

Wildlife (excluding birds)
Conservation Lands & Wildlife Management Areas (Designated Conservation Lands, in honour of Karen Wipond)
Youth (17 and under) – photographs may feature any of the above categories.
All photographs must be high-resolution jpeg format. Maximum 20 mb. You may enter as often as you like but please no duplicate subjects. Pick your best one and submit.
Before You Submit
- Upload your entries through the BC Nature online contest portal (available September 1, 2026 below).
- Photographs must be submitted in .jpg format.
- Please include the name of your subject and your name in each file name (for example: rainbow_trout_S_Smith.jpg.
- For entries from in the under 19 category, the following consent form will need to be filled in. We need only one form, regardless of the number of entries [LINK]
