BC Nature Staff

Executive Director: Stewart Guy joined BC Nature as an Executive Director in February 2022.  Stewart Guy has over 30 years of experience working as a naturalist, environmental education teacher, professional biologist, and senior executive with the British Columbia and Yukon Governments. 

Office Manager: Mish Stone joined BC Nature as an Office Manager in January 2024.  Mish has over 30 years of experience working as a Customer Service Manager, Administration Manager and Staffing Specialist, mainly in the publishing industry.  Mish enjoys mountain biking and hiking the trails of North Vancouver with her husband Duane and their dog Bob. 

IBA Coordinator / KBA First Nations Liaison: Liam has worked with B.C. Nature since November of 2020 coordinating the Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBA) program and, more recently, Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs). Liam studied community based conservation at McGill and specializes in ornithology, Indigenous relations, and volunteer coordination. He currently resides in Victoria, B.C. on the territory of the Songhees First Nation.

Conservation Coordinator: Kephra Beckett joined BC Nature in May 2022 as a UBC Sustainability Scholar. After completing her Master of Science researching the impacts of overpopulated deer on native bee communities she joined BC Nature full-time as Conservation Coordinator. Kephra leads the Municipal Protected Areas Project (MPAP), working with local governments to identify and register protected areas as part of Canada’s goal to protect 30% of land and water by 2030 (“30×30”).

 

Office Administrator:
Bookkeeper – Mary Shannon joined BC Nature in February 2023. She has over 20 years of accounting experience in sectors ranging from engineering, property management, business consulting, and non-profit. Mary enjoys hiking and walking the many beautiful areas of the lower mainland with her husband and she loves to travel. Understanding and appreciating the value of nature has always been important to Mary so she is thrilled to be working for BC Nature in her role as Bookkeeper.  

Communications Coordinator: Former Office Manager for BC Nature,  Betty Davison has worked at BC Nature in her role as Office manager for more than 14 years.  Betty has previously worked in sales and marketing in the wholesale food industry, photography, and in the retail sector.  Throughout the year, Betty can be found cruising in the waters of central and north coast of BC with her husband Mike.
